PAPOR 2024 Call for Papers

August 22-23, 2024

San Francisco, California

The Pacific Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (PAPOR) enthusiastically welcomes submissions for its 2024 Annual Conference from August 22- 23, 2024, hosted at KFF’s headquarters in San Francisco. We are currently accepting submissions for individual papers, panels of papers, and posters.

This year’s conference theme is Decision Points in Public Opinion. While we will organize several sections aligned with the conference theme, we welcome submissions on any topic related to public opinion research, theory, or methodology. We encourage participation from all sectors engaged in public opinion and public policy research, including academia, government, nonprofit, and private sectors.

2024 Theme: Decision Points in Public Opinion

In 2024, Americans—along with citizens of over 50 countries—will go to the polls. From Illinois to India, South Dakota to South Africa, public opinion will be under an extraordinary spotlight.

Voters are not the only ones making important decisions—so is the public opinion community on sampling, survey methodology, and many other topics. In this year’s conference, we want to highlight some of the choices public opinion researchers are making to build better surveys and communicate with an increasingly diverse country.

Submission Process

To submit to the 2024 PAPOR Conference, please email an abstract of up to 500 words to confchair@papor.org with the following information:

  • Name and institutional affiliation (if applicable)
  • Type of submission (individual paper, panel, or poster)

Abstracts can be in Word or PDF format or included in the body of the text. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until 12pm Pacific Time on June 15, 2024.

Student Papers

We greatly welcome student submissions to the conference! In addition to conference submissions, submissions to PAPOR’s Student Paper Competition will be automatically considered for inclusion and recognition in the conference. Student paper competition winners also receive an up to $500 travel award to attend the conference.
