| PAPOR'S ANNUAL CONFERENCES |
PAPOR's annual conferences date back to the 1980s, were first held at Asilomar in Monterey, then at a variety of other venues including southern California. Lately they have been held in early December in San Francisco at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, in the Union Square area.
The 2008 Conference will take place over Thursday and Friday, December 11 and 12, and features a short course by Don Dillman, a plenary, poster sessions, and panels.
PAPOR's Annual Conference provides an ideal opportunity for professional growth and networking in a collegial, friendly setting that also provides ample opportunity for good conversation and fruitful collaboration. In its ongoing effort to encourage students of public opinion research, for the last several years PAPOR has held a sponsored Student Paper Competition, with 1st and 2nd prizes of cash, travel expenses to the conference, and the opportunity to network and make an impression on leading researchers in the field. PAPOR's student competition winners are also encouraged to attend the national AAPOR conference in May to present their winning papers, with a guaranteed spot on the program.
For more details on the upcoming 2008 conference, check back on the front page of PAPOR.org or take a look at the preliminary program as it takes shape on the conference web page. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the low conference rate to arrive a day early and stay through the weekend.
