PAPOR Virtual Game Night

On Thursday, July 23rd at 5PM please join your PAPOR friends for a social hour playing online games together. You are on your own for food and drinks, but come ready to play some games and see your PAPOR friends. After a brief introduction we will play a round of ‘Two Truths and a Lie’ as a big group and then break out into smaller groups to play some additional games.  In the end you won’t learn anything new about Public Opinion Research, but you will know your fellow PAPOR members much better!

There are a lot of moving parts to organize for this event so you must RSVP by the end of day Monday, July 20. Please be respectful of all the volunteer work that is going into this event and RSVP on time.

If you are planning on attending please keep the following in mind:

  • You will need to have a device to access the online meeting (e.g. a PC, tablet, or SmartPhone for the web conference).  Please be sure it has a camera so we can see you!
  • You will also need a second device, either a tablet or a SmartPhone, to play the games.
  • The first 40 registered participants will be invited to participate in our “2 Truths and a Lie” game.  For this you will be asked to provide some background information and think of 2 statements that are ‘True’ about you and 1 that is a ‘Lie’.  I will send out additional information when it gets closer, but sign up early so you can participate.

There is no cost to participate, but there is a space for an optional donation during the registration process. All of the funds raised during the game night will be split evenly between PAPOR and a charity that will be voted on among participants during the event.

The PAPOR funds will go towards supporting PAPOR initiatives such as SurveyFest. The other half of the funds will be donated to an organization with a cause that is important to the PAPOR community. Please think of an organization with a cause you would like to donate to – whether that is supporting COVID-19 relief efforts, criminal justice reform, Black Lives Matter, homelessness, LGBTQ+ rights, etc. We will share the charities/organizations during the game night and then collectively vote on one (or two) we would like to contribute to!

Additional information will be sent out to participants before the game night so you can download games and set up the required accounts in advance.
